JEPPE SOENDERGAARD

Managing Director

With 10 years’ experience and a background as an Officer in the International Logistic Centre in the Danish Army, Mr. Soendergaard has generous experience with getting logistics to work in challenging areas of the world. Having grown up in Africa Mr. Soendergaard knows first-hand the challenging environment that road transporters have to operate in, in Southern Africa. Overseeing the day to day running of Cross Country, Mr. Soendergaard plays an important part in keeping the trucks moving on time and allowing the operations department to keep their focus on moving cargo for our customers.

BRIAN T. KAGONDO

Assistant General Manager

Brian Kagondo has over 19 years’ management experience spanning across various industries (Paper Manufacturing, Printing & Publishing, FMCG Production & Distribution and Agriculture) with 13 years at strategic level.  This is complimented by board level experience in both private sector companies (Lesaffrѐ Zimbabwe, Lѐbѐna biscuits) and public sector institutions (ZimTrade, Horticulture Development Council, Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries) including input into National policy on the ease and cost of doing business under Ministry of Industry and Commerce in 2014.  

Brian began his career in Art Corporation (Ltd) where he joined as an intern and rose to the position of HR Manager in time for the amalgamation of 3 SBUs in the Group.  He then joined National Foods – Oils SBU in 2009 to later become Group Training and Development Executive.  In 2011, he moved to Ariston Holdings Ltd as Group HR Executive with added responsibilities in stakeholder engagement, operations and systems (Rainforest Alliance) implementation.  Brian joined Cross Country in 2023 as Assistant General Manager where his main focus is to lead the improvement and practical implementation of systems and SOPs for better coordination between all departments towards the delivery of optimum cost per kilometre for our fleet.

SHEPHERD CHINYATI

Operations Manager

Mr. Chinyati runs the biggest department within Cross Country and is responsible for the day to day operations and effectiveness of the fleet.

Mr. Chinyati started his career with the Zimbabwean Republic Police in 1994. In 1999 Mr. Chinyati moved to the Transport Division at Police General Headquarters. While there he earned a diploma from CLT in Transport & Logistics. From there he moved to ZUPCO in 2006 where he held a position as Traffic Supervisor.

Mr. Chinyati joined Cross Country in 2008 as an Operation Controller and has worked his way up to Operations Manager, a position he has held since 2012.

MARK SAUNDERS

Finance Director

As Finance Director for Cross Country, Mark provides input towards strategic leadership from a financial perspective.

Mark is a Chartered Accountant who trained with an international “big four” audit firm in Zimbabwe.

 

Mark’s exposure across several sectors, both locally and in the SADC region, has enabled him to apply international best practice in a local and regional context.  

Having also held senior non-financial positions in his career, which spans nearly 30 years, Mark is well positioned to bring a commercially focused and multifaceted approach to the finance function.
